Room 8 at the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary

Room 8 recently had an incredible experience participating in Open Minds at the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary. Throughout the week, students were immersed in hands-on learning, discovering something new and exciting each day.

During this week-long experience, students explored the importance of urban conservation, deepened their understanding of ecology, and even stepped into the role of a botanist for a day. They had the opportunity to observe, question, and connect with the natural environment in meaningful ways.

From learning how nature thrives within our city to slowing down and being present in the world around them, this experience fostered a strong sense of connection, curiosity, and discovery. It was a memorable week that supported both personal growth and environmental awareness.

Miss Kassam’s class celebrated their learning at the Assembly on Wednesday, April 22,  through very entertaining and creative skits. 

With their talented acting skills we learned about: 😊

• Pollination and being kind to nature.
• Urban Conservation and small actions can have a lasting impact
• Wilderness Observation and the world working together
• Nature Bathing and the five senses. 

We were all very grateful for the learning opportunity, awareness and fun, as we honor Earth Day. 

Calgary Board of Education Support Staff Appreciation Week

We celebrated our AMAZING Support Staff today, at the assembly as well. The contributions, dedication and generosity of the Support Staff make the Hamptons School a very special place. They are a dynamic team that works together!!
