Monday, June 2 marked eleven years since the release of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s 94 Calls to Action, and five years since all schools have made an annual TRC Commitment to Action.

In acknowledgement of these important milestones, the CBE Indigenous Education Team has been reviewing five years of school commitments, reflections, and reports, and are seeing many meaningful examples of learning, relationship-building, and action taking place across all schools. 

As we enter National Indigenous Peoples History Month, we will engage in a renewed space of deeper reflection and renewed commitment. This point of reflection offers an important opportunity to notice patterns, celebrate progress, and identify areas where we need to deepen our collective focus in kinship with the 94 Calls to Action, the CBE Education Plan, and the Indigenous Education Holistic Lifelong Learning Framework.

June marks a time to reflect 

Like in previous years, during the month of June, we will submit a report on our TRC Commitment to Action which includes: 

• a reflection on our school’s TRC Commitments to Action over the past five years 
• key celebrations and areas of learning 
• reflections on areas where continued focus is needed 
• a summary report of the work undertaken during the 2025–2026 school year

On Friday afternoon, The Hamptons staff will be working through the TRC Commitment to Action reflection process.

For the 2025 – 2026 school year, The Hamptons School created the following Truth and Reconciliation Commitment:

Arriving on Time for School Drop off & Pickup

We have noticed a significant increase in the number of students late for school in the morning.  Even missing the first few minutes can have a large impact by missing opening learning tasks, literacy lessons and routines.  Please arrive before 8:37 to ensure that students are lined up with their classmates to enter at the bell. Additionally, we have noticed a similar increase in late pickups.  Staff members have important meetings and planning following dismissal and it is essential that parents/guardians are on time for pickup. 

Lost and Found

All Lost and Found items are displayed on tables outside the Office and students have had an opportunity to view. Parents are also welcome to drop by the school to help look for lost items!

It is that time of year!

Hopefully many of the items will be recognized. 😊

Kindergarten Registration for the 2026-2027 school year is ongoing. Please complete the online registration form.

Yellow school bus registration for the 2026-27 school year is open through your MyCBE parent account until Sunday, June 14.
