Kindergarten – Bug Lady

On April 30, Kindergarten welcomed Miss Georgia from Lady Buggy into their classroom as part of the earth systems unit in science. They learned about the differences between insects, arachnids and isopods; and sorted bugs into those categories. The students enjoyed a variety of bug themed centers focused on habitat building, art and interacting up close with live bugs. These bugs included roly-polies, mealworms, beetles, millipedes, vinegar-oons and even a tarantula!  Kindergarten is excited to share more about what they learned in their upcoming assembly. 

The kindergarten students were very excited about their experience with the bug lady:

• I liked holding the tarantula. It was ticklish.
• I liked digging for mealworms. They were yellow.
• I liked touching the butterfly.
• I liked holding the caterpillar. It felt slimy.
• I liked tracing the bug on paper. I traced wherever the bug walked.
• 😊😊😊
