Welcome Back Assembly

 At the Welcome Back Assembly last Friday, we reviewed safety, citizenship and respect at The Hamptons School.

 In their classroom, Ms. Kassam’s students discussed what citizenship and respect look like. Some of the students shared the class summary at the assembly:

  • This year, we're all working together to make our school a safe, welcoming, and respectful place. We can do that by caring for ourselves, caring for others, and caring for our place.
  • Caring for ourselves means making safe choices, believing in ourselves, and remembering not to be too hard on ourselves when things get challenging. We all learn and grow at our own pace.
  • Caring for others means using kind words, listening when others are speaking, keeping our hands to ourselves, including everyone, and making sure being unkind has no place in our school.
  • Caring for our place means looking after our classrooms, playground, and school equipment. We can help by cleaning up after ourselves, walking safely in the hallways, and showing respect for our environment.
  • When we care for ourselves, care for others, and care for our place, we help make our school a community where everyone belongs. Let's have an amazing year together!

Ms. Kassam’s students presented their thoughts very well and it was a valuable learning opportunity for all students.

Problem Solving

At the Welcome Back assembly, students were also reminded that problems are normal.

This is consistent language that can be used at home and school:

  • Problems are Normal 
  • Problems Happen Every Day 
  • We Solve Problems in Peaceful Ways

  • To make sure everyone in the class and school feels safe
  • To learn to understand how others are feeling and to help them feel better
  • To work and play with everyone, no matter what
  • Let everyone know what they should do at school
  • To teach about what happens when you make a mistake.

Reminders to Parents

Forms-Please remember to complete and submit the Annual Authorization, Student Demographics forms digitally in SchoolEngage and return blue forms by Monday, September 14.

Noon Supervision Program-If your child is staying for lunch at The Hamptons School, please ensure that you register your child in the noon supervision program through the MyCBE parent account. Fees will be posted to your parent account by CBE Fees.

Absences & Lates-please leave a message on The Hamptons School Attendance Line at 403-777-7300, Ext. 1 prior to 8:30 a.m.

For the safety of your children, please ensure that your children do not arrive to school before 8:22 a.m.

There are no supervising teachers before 8:22 a.m.
